Open by David Gregory is an intriguing little book about a young woman who has questions for God. After a difficult break up with a long time boyfriend, Emma finds herself emotionally and spiritually lost. One day she opens a letter that simply invites her to go through the closest open door. She takes the invitation to heart and finds herself face to face with the only one who can answer her questions about life, Jesus.
Gregory does an excellent job of retelling the gospel stories in a way that allows tons of AHA moments. I would tell you about them all, but I think part of the fun of this book is being surprised with Emma over where she ends up and what stories from scripture God uses to answer her questions. There were several moments that I had to pause throughout the book and take an inventory of my own journey. Definitely a book to help you reset when you feel like you might be adrift.
It's a great book, highly recommend it.
I received a copy of this book from Tyndale House Publishing for the purpose of review.
