I don't remember how it got started, but we sat and listened to music for quite awhile last Friday and then Joel decided, that they thing he wanted to do was have a little Bible study. It was nice to sit and read scripture together. I'm not sure if this is going to be a regular thing, but it was a welcomed change of pace.
Though I am really struggling with staying excited about date night and making sure that it doesn't just turn into us watching shows at night, is getting harder and harder to do. It could just be the summer and the busier schedule that we have right now, but I would have thought that it would be easier to come up with date ideas in the summer.
We have come to the conclusion that trading off months of planning doesn't work, mainly because one of us does not end up planning an entire months worth and thinks the month is always over before it is. After loosing track of who was in charge and floundering over whose night it is to plan, we have dropped the ball more often than not.
I do see that the important is spending time together. But if it's not well planned it becomes a burden more so than time together. I think we have to recommit ourselves to date night to finish off an actual year of dates, because right now, I feel like my project 52 is getting the back burner.
