I finally made my way downtown to partake in one of the best birthday presents ever, a membership to the DIA. I had no real clue what I was in for. I kept reading the website, thinking "Huh, they've got some nice stuff" But when we got there, it was just amazing. And it's not just the amount of things on display it's also how things are displayed and the building itself. There's a mini-Starbucks inside that I could probably go and spend an entire day writing in. Just beautiful! I cannot wait to go back. In fact, I'm thinking about going back tomorrow and maybe again the next day, I'm not kidding, I really am, it's that good.
These are just a few of the things Joel captured on his camera phone. We weren't sure if it was okay to photograph but discovered that it is acceptable and is marked if they don't want photos taken of it. We didn't stay very long, but there was so much stuff, that Hannah was interested the entire time. The sculpture at the top, I'm pretty sure is a Calder, whom we got to see at the SAM when we were in Seattle. The two paintings are both by Van Gogh. The last one being my favorite.
What are you thankful for this Thursday?
